Meet the Cast

Adrian MarchukFabrizio Naccarelli
Though this exciting young tenor has worked in theatres across Canada, this is Adrian’s first appearance on the west coast.  He was most recently seen playing Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys (Toronto, Las Vegas).  Adrian’s work so far has encompassed a wide range of roles:  the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (Silvermist Productions), Gilbert Blythe in Anne & Gilbert (Ontario Tour), Cosme McMoon in Glorious! (Thousand Islands Playhouse), Cale in Fire (Persephone Theatre, Lighthouse Festival Theatre), Edgar in Bat Boy: The Musical! (Betty Award Nomination for Best Performance), Max in Lend Me A Tenor, Paul Bratter in Barefoot in the Park, Lee Harvey Oswald in Assassins, Claudio in Much Ado About Nothing.  Adrian spent two seasons at the Shaw Festival, where he appeared in Peter Pan, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Caesar and Cleopatra, and the Canadian premiere of Merrily We Roll Along.  An accomplished musician, Adrian plays piano and guitar, and is also the creator of a new musical show, The Sweetest Sounds.

Samantha HillClara Johnson
Samantha is very excited to be making her Vancouver theatre debut with Patrick Street Productions in this beautiful show.  Originally from Winnipeg, Samantha just received her BFA in Acting from the University of Alberta in Edmonton.  Selected theatre credits include Tilda Price in Nicholas Nickleby, April White in Savage in Limbo (Studio Theatre), Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (UofA), Clara in The Light in the Piazza, Carla Albanese in Nine (Dry Cold Productions), Rumpleteazer in Cats (June 2011), Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Wendy in Peter Pan (Rainbow Stage), Jane Seymour in Head (Shakespeare in the Ruins) and Marina in Pericles (University of Winnipeg). Film/TV: Closures, Fear Itself, The Atwood Stories and The Nature of Nicholas.  Samantha is recipient of the Jean-Murray Moray-Sinclair scholarship from RMTC and the Dr. Dasha Goody Scholarship from Edmonton Musical Theatre.

Katey WrightMargaret Johnson
Katey saw the premiere production of The Light in the Piazza at the Intiman Theatre in Seattle and was overwhelmed by its beauty.  She makes her home here on the coast but has worked in theatres in every province from here to Ontario (and hopes to get to the east coast provinces too).  Vancouver credits include the Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods and Meredith in Bat Boy:  The Musical (Patrick Street Productions); Viola in Twelfth Night (Bard on the Beach); the title role in Little Mercy’s First Murder (Touchstone Theatre); Amalia in She Loves Me! and Barbara in The Constant Wife, both directed by Morris Panych (Arts Club – Stanley); Lucy Brown in The Three Penny Opera (Belfry / Arts Club).  Further afield, Katey has played Claire in Proof (MTC / Citadel Theatre); Constance in She Stoops to Conquer (Grand Theatre / Vancouver Playhouse); appeared in The Man Who Came To Dinner at the Shaw Festival; and went to Saskatoon with PSP’s production of The Full Monty.  A busy voice actress, Katey has hundreds of radio commercials to her credit, and has appeared on-screen in principal roles in everything from MacGyver (2 episodes) and Danger Bay (2 episodes) to Psych! and The L Word.  She and Peter Jorgensen are the founders and Artistic Producers of Patrick Street Productions and parents of a small son.

David M. AdamsSignor Naccarelli
David’s varied career ranges from mega-musicals like Showboat, Phantom of the Opera and Sunset Boulevard, to three seasons at the Shaw Festival, to various roles in theatres across the country, to many appearances on TV & Film and an extensive list of voice-over credits. Recently, David played Shylock in The Merchant of Venice, was featured in the one-man show Jesus, My Boy, played Daddy Warbucks in Annie, Dara in My Granny the Goldfish, Marley/Christmas Present/Joe in Jeremy Tow’s adaptation of A Christmas Carol, The Editor in Tear the Curtain, Mr. Green in Visiting Mr. Green for the Chutzpah Festival and most recently, Gino Barbieri in the uproarious comedy Mambo Italiano. He has directed many shows, receiving a Jessie nomination for his work on The Fantasticks; was Vancouver Opera’s Resident Associate Director for 6 seasons; and directed Verdi’s Rigoletto for Edmonton Opera and My Fair Lady for Western Canada Theatre.

Heather PawseySignora Naccarelli
Acclaimed for her “stylistic versatility, the flexibility of her voice, its clarity, range and power” (Halifax Chronicle Herald), soprano Heather Pawsey’s career encompasses opera, oratorio, chamber, symphonic and contemporary music.  First Prize winner of the Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition, she has performed across North America, Europe, Russia, Singapore and Australia.  In 2009, Heather was named an Ambassador of the Canadian Music Centre – one of only 50 performers and conductors so honoured from across Canada “who have played exceptional roles in shaping the Canadian music scene and raising the profile of Canadian music.”  Heather has sung roles with Vancouver Opera, Burnaby Lyric Opera, Prairie Opera and Opera Viva and, as soloist, for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Scotia Festival of Music, Turning Point Ensemble, Vancouver Island Symphony, Aventa Ensemble, Land’s End Chamber Ensemble, Music on Main, Sonic Boom Festival, and CBC Radio, among others.  She has produced and performed ten New Music in New Places concerts, and been awarded grants from the Canada Council, BC Arts Council, and Department of Heritage.  Heather is a Playwright Member of Playwrights’ Theatre Centre, and is the Artistic Director of Astrolabe Musik Theatre.

Daren HerbertGiuseppe Naccarelli
Born and raised in Bermuda, Daren has performed on stages and sets in the US, Canada, South Korea and Japan.  He’s earned a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award (’05) as well as nominations for both an NAACP Theatre Award (’07) and a 2010 Dora Mavor Moore Award.  On stage, Daren recently appeared in the Arts Club production of Glengarry Glen Ross with a stellar cast including Eric McCormack; Lobby Hero at the Havana Theatre; and Studio 180’s Parade this January, in Toronto.  Recent on screen appearances include episodes of Stargate Universe, Human Target, and Breakout Kings.  Look out for Daren in the upcoming McG film This Means War.

Dana LuccockFranca Naccarelli
Canadian mezzo-soprano Dana Luccock is emerging as a talented and versatile you singer equally at home on music theatre, opera and concert stages.  Having recently returned to Vancouver from Toronto where she earned Master’s degrees in Voice and Musicology, Dana has since performed the roles of Grace Farrell (Annie), Ottavia (Incoronazione di Poppea), Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus), and Aline (The Sorcerer).  Following performances at the Metro Theatre this summer in the Vancouver Academy of Music’s Opera Scenes Concert, Dana will return to Europe for voice studies in Luxembourg where she placed second in the Nei-Stemmen International Singing Competition in 2010.  This spring, Dana will graduate from the Vancouver Academy of Music’s Artist Diploma program where she has been studying with David Meek, and looks forward to her Okanagan Symphony debut as mezzo-soprano soloist in the Mozart Requiem in November 2011.

Timothy E. BrummundRoy Johnston
Timothy is honoured to be back with Patrick Street Productions after making his debut as Sheriff Reynolds in Bat Boy: The Musical.  As a graduate of Grant MacEwan Musical Theatre School, he is an accomplished  theatre, voice-over and film/TV actor.  His career highlights include U/S Bill Austin/Sam Carmichael in Mamma Mia! (Mirvish Productions), the voice of Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors (Arts Club Theatre/Citadel Theatre), Clown One in The 39 Steps (Chemainus Theatre), Daddy Warbucks in Annie (Gateway Theatre) Harry the Horse in Guys and Dolls (Chemainus Theatre), Dr Neville Craven in The Secret Garden (Stage Polaris), Edward Lott in the TV Series Smallville, and the voice of Beast Man and King Randor in He-Man and Masters of the Universe. Later this Fall, Timothy will be performing the role of Lieutenant Schrank in Vancouver Opera’s West Side Story.

Kevin Michael CrippsPriest / Ensemble
Kevin studied vocal performance and composition at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton and opera performance at the University of Alberta.  Currently, he is an instructor and Music Director in residence at Capilano University’s musical theatre program.  Kevin works locally as a music director, vocal coach and actor.  Music direction credits include:  Bye Bye Birdie, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Theatre Under the Stars), Nine (Pipedream Productions) The Baker’s Wife (Applause Musicals in Concert), Cinderella, Footloose, The Threepenny Opera and Children of Eden (Capilano University/Exit 22).  Acting credits include: the Bishop in Les Miserables (Arts Club Theatre), Jud Fry in Oklahoma! (Theatre Under the Stars), Capt. Albert Lennox in The Secret Garden (Richmond Gateway) and Simon Peter in Corpus Christi (Hoarse Raven Theatre).  Kevin will return to school in September 2012 to complete his Masters Degree in the Practice of Voice and Singing at the University of Surrey, Guildford, England.

Britt MacLeodEnsemble
Britt is a graduate of Capilano University’s Musical Theatre program.  She is a versatile performer, a songwriter, a dancer and choreographer for numerous styles, and most recently has taken on the role of producer for her theatre company, Kinetichism.  The company’s first production, Itamar Moses’s Love/Stories, premieres this May at Little Mountain Studio.  Favourite recent credits include:  Into the Woods (Exit 22), Female Transport (Exit 22), Nine (Pipedream Productions), and Two Gentlemen of Verona (Adams’ Apple Theatre).
